The Town of Chatham is currently seeking candidates for the newly created position of Director of Community Services. As a member of the Leadership Team and under the general direction of the Town Manager or designee, the responsibilities of the position include administering community and social services for the Town of Chatham, including overseeing the Town’s senior/older adults facility and programs, recreation/beaches department and community outreach services. This position provides and oversees a visionary and innovative approach to programming for an array of Town-wide community social, educational, supportive and recreational services and programs to the citizens of Chatham.
A Bachelor’s degree with five to seven years relevant experience are required. Master’s degree in gerontology, social work, human services administration, public administration or an allied discipline preferred. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of municipal operations and government, demonstrated supervisory experience and substantial expertise planning and managing comprehensive and diverse programs and services consistent with Town-wide priorities and needs. This full-time is a, year-round, and benefits/pension eligible salaried position at 40 hours per week and is a covered position under the Chatham Managers Association. The salary range for this position: $98,612.80---$103,625.60; starting salary will be based on experience & qualifications.
