Rain, Wind, Flooding Expected

Another storm system is forecast to impact our area Tuesday night into Wednesday. Heavy rain, high winds, and coastal flooding are expected. 

Areas of particular concern for flooding with winds from the south include Little Beach, Morris Island, and Bridge Street. Please avoid these areas, if possible, particularly around the time of high tides Tuesday night (10:36 pm), Wednesday morning (10:31 am), and Thursday morning (11:22 am).

Never drive through flood waters. Flood waters can disguise hidden hazards like debris, washed-out roads, deep potholes, or downed power lines. Flood waters can also cause your vehicle to stall, stranding you in the vehicle. Tidal flood waters can present strong currents making it difficult to travel on foot if your vehicle becomes stranded. 

If you encounter flooded roads, turn around and find a safer route. It's better to be delayed than risk your safety or that of our first responders who would be called on to rescue you.
