Water Service Line Inventory
The Town of Chatham Water Division is required by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) to develop a Water Service Line Inventory with focus on identifying lead water line services in Town by October 2024.
By conducting this inventory of the over 7,000 service line connections in our water system, the Town will be able to proactively plan how to address any lead service lines and create a removal plan.
Please enter information on your water service line.
Irrigation System Survey
Please complete the Town of Chatham Irrigation System Survey.
Completing the survey will assist us in updating our records and ensuring that all irrigation systems are registered and metered in compliance with the Water Department's Rules and Regulations.
Municipal water users are reminded of the following from the Water Rules & Regulations:
• “As of April 1, 2018, the Chatham Water Department shall not allow the initial filling, or subsequent draining and re-filling, of swimming pools from the municipal water system.” (Article VII 19.)
• “No new irrigation systems shall be connected to the municipal water supply as of January 1, 2021.” (Article VI 2.)
• “Existing irrigation systems not already on a separate water meter shall be retrofitted, at the customers expense, with a separate water meter no later than January 1, 2022.” (Article VI 5.a.)
